11. Syedra Ancient City
Syedra Ancient City is a historical settlement located within the borders of Seki Village, approximately 20 kilometers east of Alanya, Antalya. The history of the city dates back to the 7th century BC and it was continuously inhabited until the 13th century AD. Due to its location on the western border of the Cilicia region, it was an important center both historically and commercially. During the reign of Roman Emperor Tiberius (AD 14–17), the city began minting its own coins under the name “Syedron,” a practice that continued until the reign of Emperor Gallienus (AD 253–268).
Syedra is spread over a wide area surrounded by city walls. Upon entering through the monumental gate in the west, two main streets running parallel to each other can be found. To the east lies a magnificent bathhouse with mosaic remnants on its floor, and to the west is a colonnaded street stretching north to south. Other important remains include a baptism cave carved into natural rock and decorated with frescoes, cisterns, a temple, necropolis, council building, churches, monumental tombs, a theater, and shops. Inscriptions found throughout the city provide information about individuals who won awards in competitions such as athletics and wrestling, as well as those who organized these events.
Today, archaeological excavations led by the Alanya Museum Directorate are uncovering the historical texture of Syedra Ancient City. 13. Hıdırellez Church

There are four windows on both the eastern and western facades and two on the northern facade. The building has three entrance doors, one of which on the eastern side leads to a second interior section elevated and made of wood. The wooden gable roof has a vaulted shape from the inside. Above the western entrance, there is an inscription written in Turkish (Karamanli Turkish) using the Greek alphabet; this inscription is currently exhibited in the Alanya Museum.
Although the exact construction date of the church is unknown, an inscription indicates that it was repaired on April 23, 1873. During the population exchange in 1924, the Orthodox Christians living in Alanya, who spoke Turkish and worshipped in the church, were sent to Greece, and the church was closed to worship during this process. Today, the church is visited by both locals and tourists during the Hıdırellez week to celebrate the arrival of spring, with picnic events being held. Following restoration works by Alanya Municipality, the church has been repurposed to host cultural events.
14. Atatürk House and Museum
Alanya Atatürk House and Museum is the house where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, stayed during his visit to Alanya on February 18, 1935. Located in Şekerhane Neighborhood, this three-story mansion reflects the characteristics of 19th-century Turkish architecture. After the death of the homeowner Tevfik Azakoğlu, the house was donated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism by his son Rıfat Azakoğlu and was opened to visitors as a museum in 1987.
